I'm a Granny. Not only do I love Earl Grey tea and knitting I have already had operations on both my knees from years of hammering them at ice skating.  A couple of days ago however I had my first lesson back on the ice with the great James Young aka Jimmy to anyone in British Ice Dance! It was such a nice lesson, and it really felt good doing the good old dances such as the Tango Romantica - I could almost forget the odd twinges in my granny knees.....

About to skate the Rumba in last year's Championships before my second knee operation.

However, after such an energetic morning, I was aching all over so decided to go back to my comfort zone - a pleasant little wander around the V&A.
Busy bee - man on the information desk who never stopped , just constantly helping.

This woman in the foyer caught my eye  as she  must have only been  about 5'2 yet she had this coat draped over her, completely weighing her down. Alongside the comical size aspect it was bright green and checked. The image of her hurriedly, scuttling across the entrance while trying to manage this tent of a coat needed to be recorded in my little book.

P.s.

If you're scratching you're head for something to do in this gloomy spring weather check out 'Goodbye, First Love.' It's a charming french film from director Mia Hansen-Love following the trials and tribulations of relationships, and how we change, grow and our perspectives can change over time. Basically, if - like me - you enjoy films where you can connect with the characters without clichés or cheesy commercial guff, then next time it's raining outside - probably tomorrow - go see it!

For my Birthday I got a rather swanky cocktail shaker - yesterday me and my friends gave it a whirl.
After a team effort of myself and Fanny, the first home made cocktail was ready for shaking .

Well, after a year of hard work the end of my art foundation course is coming to an official end with our exhibition that is on all week at the Camberwell site of University of the Arts London. My piece is a costume for Estragon from 'Waiting for Godot'. Hopefully it will be a success and a great way to show off the theatre groups creativity!

Me and my costume - looking like a dweeb.

Today is my Birthday, I woke up to this - no need to say anything else! x

Love to Lucy for making an amazing Birthday breakfast.

Saturday 5 May 2012

For a bit of early Birthday fun, I decided to have a wee tea party in the flat -  slight sugar hangover .

Secretly would love to just open a cake shop, baking is becoming a slight obsession.

Happy unbirthday.

Love covering the flat in flowers, living in a small space in  the centre of London, it gives me the illusion of a garden.

I'm starting to get all excited about this summer, oh the Jubilee, the Olympics and just general Britishness - pimms, afternoon tea and of course bunting so I decided to do this.....
I got some old pyjamas .

Cut them into triangle pieces, and  found some string.

Then  sewed them onto the string! So easy and pretty, am going to go make some more.....
So I've left the rolling peaks and am back in the big smoke......'Places is as different as chalk and cheese. I soon picked that out when I were down south.'

A good old, proper cuppa tea for the journey - oh and yes, that is a portable cd player.....

This lady was sat just opposite me, I have a feeling she had sussed I was drawing her, so I made it a quick sketch without a face to make it less obvious! Well, hopefully!

These earrings, just wow.
After my awkward situation drawing the lady near me, I turned my attention to this sleeping passenger, safer but if anything I probably felt weirder.
