Today I tried my costume out on my model Nick. Ladies and gents I give you Trinculo.....

Over Christmas I am going to make the quiff EVEN BIGGER.

Thursday 28 November 2013

This week I have been getting my sew on to get my costume together and help make some kimonos for the same performance 'Toynbee' that I visited The Imperial War Museum for!

My hair arrived Friday so got cracking with Trinculo's quiff with a little help form some PVA.....

Check the quiff!
Ah am such an idiot managed to stain my jumper while painting into it.....

.....had to get creative covering it up.

Trinculo's garish lining.....

Sewing with my trusty companion - a nice cup of tea.

Kimooonoo.

On Saturday I went to The Art of Dining's latest pop-up, 'The Servants Supper' at Ham House. So. Much. Food. As we were servants for the night we had to prepare our own herbs to season our soup starter, had the option to polish our own cutlery.....

And now I am just off to queue to be in the audience for The Graham Norton Show. Such fun!

So today my options group and I tricked the innocent people of Wimbledon by attaching a £5 note to some thread. When anyone attempted to pick it up we pulled it away. Pretty funny. We were interested in seeing how long it would take for someone to try and pick it up and also how many people would give it a go.....

I have also done some sewing and now my jacket is starting to become a jacket!

And looks sort of like my design. Bonus.

Over the weekend as well as painting material green, I got to have some theme party fun. Dark Circus. A pretty amazing theme as can use feathers unashamedly. Here are some snaps.....

Beautiful ladies!

FEATHERS.

SO.CUTE.

Marker pen tatt.

Oh those tights.

RUFFLES.

Looking smoooooth.

:)
Ooooooooh.

The lady in the fur coat? Yeah we don't know her. Bit awkward.

Ah, want it to be the weekend again!

Wednesday 13 November 2013

Before the start of the new academic year I made a vow not to go to cocktail bars. Have I stuck to it? Well, this is me and the lovely Kate having a tipple in good old LCC.....

But I am balancing the fun times with busy costume stuff.....promise! Yesterday I got to hang out in The Imperial War Museum archive for research purposes for some work experience I am undertaking!! I am such a dork, so got such a kick from reading an ATP instruction booklet that had been fully filled out in scrawled pencil writing, ah think it so weird that it was actually used by someone. They had made notes, written train times and addresses of air raid victims and there I was decades later reading it in a museum research centre!! Here are a couple of snaps from today.....

Have also been kind of productive college work-wise as I got started on my jacket. Painting green lines? Surprisingly hard!

Definitely going to be ready for The Dark Circus Party Saturday. That is right, an excuse to stick feathers on my face.
